Movers Brent Modern Slavery Commitment
Movers Brent is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in an ethical, transparent, and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement outlines the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our own operations and throughout our supply chains. It applies to all employees, contractors, agency workers, and suppliers engaged by Movers Brent.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Movers Brent has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, organisation, or supplier that is involved in, benefits from, or turns a blind eye to modern slavery. This commitment extends to all stages of our services, including planning, packing, transportation, storage, and associated administrative support.
All employees are expected to act with integrity and in line with this policy. Breaches are treated as serious misconduct and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract. We expect all suppliers and business partners to adopt similar standards and to cascade these expectations through their own supply chains.
Our Supply Chain and Supplier Standards
Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, packaging materials, storage facilities, equipment, maintenance services, and labour agencies. We recognise that risks may arise particularly where temporary labour, contracted services, or complex sourcing arrangements are involved.
Movers Brent requires suppliers to comply with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws. As a condition of working with us, suppliers are expected to ensure that:
All work is voluntary and workers are free to leave employment in line with legal and contractual requirements. Workers are of legal working age and verified through appropriate documentation. No worker pays recruitment fees or deposits in order to secure or retain work. Wages, working hours, and conditions meet or exceed legal standards and industry norms. Workers have access to their own identity and travel documents at all times.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
We carry out proportionate due diligence and audits on suppliers based on the level of risk associated with the goods or services they provide and the locations in which they operate. Our approach includes:
Pre-engagement assessment of new suppliers, including ethical and labour standards. Periodic reviews of existing suppliers through questionnaires, checks, and where appropriate on-site visits. Requiring confirmation of compliance with our modern slavery expectations and relevant legislation. Taking corrective action where non-compliance is identified, which may include remediation plans, closer monitoring, suspension, or termination of the business relationship.
We are committed to strengthening our audit processes over time and to using the findings to improve risk identification and mitigation across our supply chain.
Reporting Concerns and Protection
Movers Brent encourages all employees, workers, and suppliers to raise concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical labour practices at the earliest opportunity. Concerns may relate to our own operations or to any organisation connected to our business activities.
Reports can be made to management or through internal reporting channels made available to staff and key suppliers. Concerns can be raised anonymously where permitted by local laws. We will investigate all reports promptly and fairly and take appropriate action where issues are substantiated.
We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith or who cooperates with an investigation. Protecting those who speak up is an essential part of our commitment to preventing modern slavery.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We are working to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our teams through training and guidance relevant to their roles. This includes helping managers and staff identify warning signs such as signs of coercion, restriction of movement, or unusual working arrangements.
Movers Brent is committed to continual improvement of our policies and practices. We review our risk assessments, supplier engagement processes, and training materials to reflect evolving best practice and legal requirements.
Annual Review and Governance
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every year by the leadership of Movers Brent. The annual review considers changes in our business operations, updates in legislation, audit outcomes, and any incidents or concerns raised.
Where necessary, we update our procedures, strengthen our controls, and enhance our supplier requirements to ensure ongoing effectiveness. The latest approved version of this statement represents our current position and forms part of our wider commitment to ethical and responsible business conduct.
